The "European Program for the Horizontal Extension of the 8.33 KHz frequency spacing area ( 8.33 HEX )" , coordinated by EUROCONTROL is meant for the increase in number of the available ground / air communication channels , by changing the frequency separation from 25KHz to 8.33KHz, in the upper airspace of the European countries.
The electronic Information Display System ( IDS ) displays various data necessary for the air traffic control ( weather data, NOTAM, aircraft characteristics, a/o ), at the controller's working position. The entire design and execution have been achieved by ROMATSA specialists.
In view of the continuous training of the air traffic controllers, the regulations require a training simulator, to provide high fidelity simulations.
This system has been installed by ROMATSA, in accordance with the operational requirements, in order to prevent the total loss of the radio communications, in case of " failure " of the VCSS equipment supplied by SITTI , this being part of the "Romanian ATM system Modernization Project."
In order to achieve a good VHF communication between the air traffic controller and the aircraft, the transmitters and the receivers have to be located in locations providing a proper radio coverage.
Due to the new structures of the airspace, a re-distribution of the existing transmitters and receivers must be performed.
This system was implemented by THALES - IS and is responsible for the processing and distribution of the following categories of messages:
• Emergency and distress messages;
• Flight safety messages;
• Meteorological messages;
• Flight regulatory messages;
• Aeronautical information service messages;
• Administrative messages;
• Service messages;
STcR is developed by ROMATSA in accordance with the ATM System Modernization Project (27.11.1998).
The main purpose of the system is to provide the support of the data / voice telecommunications between the ROMATSA sub-units.

The adaptation of Romatsa to the changes occured in the external environment is one of the constant challenges of the management, with a view to increase the performances, of which the enhancement of the organisation efficiency holds an important place. In many situations, the adaptation of an organisation imposes an organisational development, by enhancing the strategy and organisational structure, with effect in increasing the activities efficiency. The year 2020 represents the deadline settled at European level for the finalisation of carrying into effect of the major changes resulting of the legislation package on the Single European Sky implementation. |
