In accordance with the Annex 11 and the Annex 12, ROMATSA provides search and rescue services :
• by informing the appointed organizations / departments concerning the aircraft under emergency conditions, needing support for the search and rescue operations;
• by granting assistance, on request, to such organizations/ departments; and
• by providing the connection with the aircraft under emergency conditions, in need of assistance for search and rescue, in accordance with the COSPAS / SARSAT procedure, , by means of the head quarter of the search and rescue missions, when the latter has been designated as SAR contact point.
ROMATSA houses the head quarter of the search missions.
